Sweden’s Wildbirds & Peacedrums are currently working on a new album. Both “Rivers” and “The Snake” are available now.

Rivers is a double release of two distinctly different, five-song EP’s: Retina and Iris and also features the 12-strong Schola Cantorum Reykjavík Chamber Choir (same choir used by Björk on Medulla). The twin EPs were carefully developed by both Mariam Wallentin and her husband, drummer Andreas Werliin.

“Retina is close and cloistered, which makes the slow-burn momentum of Iris feels fresh and energetic; the songs on Iris embrace their place as actual songs, which makes the byzantine compositions of Retina seem restive and challenging.” Dusted

“Minimal Swedish duo find their softer side, with delicately gorgeous results.” NME

“Shifty art-pop bewitches with imaginative means.” Spin

“It’s unusual to hear songs and sounds that so directly implicate the human bodies that produced them, and it demands a creative leap to pursue such intimate exposure. By the force of their musicianship on Rivers, however, Wildbirds & Peacedrums manage to own that risk as one of their greatest assets.” Tiny Mix Tapes
